All visitation restricted to Continuing Care Center in Ojai as precautionary measure to protect residents from COVID-19

3 13 CMHCommunity Memorial Hospital sent out the following message via email Friday afternoon (March 13), announcing all visitation to the Continuing Care Center in Ojai is restricted and that visitors to Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura are discouraged. The message from CMH officials is:

"Dear Friend of Community Memorial Hospital:

"We recognize that everyone has a heightened awareness of the situation surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19).  We wanted to share the answers to some frequently asked questions, as well as details on where you can go for more information.  Please click here: https://www.cmhshealth.org/coronavirus-faq/
  
"For the protection of our patients, we are formally discouraging all visitors to Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura.  Access to the Ocean Tower (new hospital) is restricted to the front entrance(s) only, and all visitors and vendors may be subject to screening before entering.  Access to the Mountain Tower (old hospital) is limited to patients and an essential companion only.  Patients and companions entering the Mountain Tower may be subject to screening as well. 
"Additionally, ALL visitation to the Continuing Care Center in Ojai has been restricted until further notice.  We are also highly discouraging visitors to Ojai Valley Community Hospital and are recommending that only patients and essential companions enter that facility at this time.
"CMHS is in constant communication with Ventura County Public Health and is working diligently to prepare for the potential spread of this virus.  As always, the safety of our patients, physicians, staff and community members remains of upmost importance.
