Free food provided in Ojai through FOOD Share, St. Vincent De Paul Society, VCAAA

Residents line up to receive FOOD Share food at St. Thomas Aquinas Church April 27.

FOOD Share, the county of Ventura’s regional food bank, holds pop-up food pantries in Ojai on Mondays, from noon until the food runs out at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 185 St. Thomas Drive, Ojai.
Free fresh and healthy produce is also available at:
— The Harvest Community Market from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. the first Thursday of the month — May 7 — at St. Thomas Aquinas/St. Vincent de Paul, also at 185 St. Thomas Drive, Ojai.
— The St. Vincent de Paul food pantry is open from 8 to 10 a.m. on the third Saturday of the month — May 16 — at  St. Thomas Aquinas/St. Vincent de Paul.
On April 21, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors approved a total of $855,000 in tax dollars for FOOD Share to help feed residents during the pandemic shutdown as residents’ need for food has dramatically spiked.

 

In addition, the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging is providing free food and supply delivery to eligible county residents 60 and older and those with disabilities.
