As of Nov. 5, there were 14,901 people who had ever been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Ventura County, and 708 active cases under quarantine. This was a 158-case leap from the day before.
Out of the 14,901, 155 were in Ojai and 80 in Oak View. Thirty people were in the hospital with COVID-19 countywide as of Nov. 6. Five people were in intensive care units.
A total of 169 people are reported to have died from the virus in Ventura County. Eleven were in Ojai and two in Oak View.
The county remains in the red tier with an adjusted case rate of 5.3 cases per day per 100,000 residents. To move to the next tier, the rate must be 3.9 or less. The county has a 2.4% positivity rate, which would be good enough for the orange moderate tier.
