VC nears return to purple COVID reopening tier

Ventura County may revert back to the most-restrictive purple tier on Nov. 17 or Nov. 24 with an adjusted case rate of 7.2 cases per day per 100,000 residents.
To remain in the red tier, the case rate must be at 7 or below.
As of Nov. 12, there were 15,764 people who had ever been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Ventura County, and 951 active cases under quarantine.
Out of the 15,764, 159 were in Ojai and 86 in Oak View. Thirty-six people were in the hospital with COVID-19 countywide as of Nov. 12. Five people were in intensive care units.
A total of 171 people are reported to have died from the virus in Ventura County. Twelve were in Ojai and three in Oak View.
