As of Dec. 23, there were 32,895 people who ever were diagnosed with COVID-19 in Ventura County, and 3,494 active cases under quarantine.
This was a 751-case jump from the day before. Out of these 32,895, 365 were in Ojai and 131 in Oak View.
A county all-time record 327 people were in the hospital with COVID-19 countywide as of Dec. 23.
Sixty-seven were in the ICU Dec. 23, just shy of the county record of 68 set on Monday. Zero percent of ICU beds were available countywide. This is a state calculation based on the number of staffed beds available and the high percentage of COVID-19 patients in the ICU.
A total of 224 people are reported to have died from the virus in Ventura County. Twelve were in Ojai and three in Oak View.
