If you are 65 and older or a healthcare worker, you can sign up for a COVID-19 vaccination. Several vaccine appointments were opened this week for Nordhoff High School — 1401 Maricopa Highway, Ojai — and other Ventura County sites.

Vaccines are being given at Nordhoff High School on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays for at least the next six weeks.

To register, log on to:

Vaccine appointments with the county can also be made for those needing assistance by calling the vaccine registration phone number at 805-477-7161.

To get a vaccine, people must be 65 years of age or older and resident of Ventura County, or work in Ventura County. People need to take an ID with them to the vaccination site.

If you need help signing up, HELP of Ojai is offering assistance by calling 805-646-5122. It also has limited transportation available.

How to make a vaccine appointment online or by phone

An Ojai COVID-19 vaccination site at Nordhoff High School is anticipated to open Feb. 20.

Since COVID-19 vaccines are now available to Ventura County residents 65 and older — in addition to Phase 1A, healthcare workers and those 75 and older — some may be wondering exactly how to register to receive a vaccine.

The three main ways to receive the vaccines right now are:

— County mass vaccination sites, including at Nordhoff High School in Ojai on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

— Albertsons/Vons pharmacies.

—  Healthcare providers — call your doctor.

Vaccine appointments with the county can also be made for those needing assistance by calling the vaccine registration phone number at 805-477-7161.

The county has vaccination sites at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, South Oxnard Public Health, and Goebel Adult Community Center in Thousand Oaks.

In addition to the Ojai site, the county will be opening additional sites in the coming week on Rose Avenue in Oxnard, and the Ventura County Office of Education’s conference center in Camarillo.
