Teacher and ag workers' vaccines, sports openings, and more on county COVID-19 update

The Ventura County Board of Supervisors got an update on the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, schools reopening, business assistance programs and more at its Feb. .23 meeting.

Ventura County Public Health Director Rigoberto Vargas reported the COVID-19 numbers for Tuesday, Feb. 23:
— 136 new confirmed COVID-19 cases.
— 5,500 newly tested.
Vargas said that Ventura County's testing volume is among the best in the state.
— 11 additional deaths of people with COVID-19.
— 143 in hospital with COVID-19, an improvement over Feb. 22 when there were 154 hospitalized in Ventura County with COVID-19.
— 28 in intensive care units with COVID-19
