Don’t Tell Comedy will come to Ojai on May 29.


Don’t Tell Comedy is bringing its one-of-a-kind comedy show to Ojai on Saturday, May 29.

Tickets cost $25, but ticketholders won’t find out where the show is held until noon the day of the show via email.

The show is BYOB, so people are welcome to bring their own drinks and snacks. Seating is pre-arranged in groups spaced 6 feet apart. Founded in Los Angeles in 2017, Don’t Tell Comedy is a grass-roots organization that produces pop-up comedy shows in more than 46 cities across the country. Past locations have included rooftops, back yards, and even a surf shop.

In addition to the location being a secret, the performers are also kept confidential, at least until they step up on stage. Don’t Tell’s specialty is introducing audiences to the best of the next generation of comedians who are at the precipice of breaking through to the next level.

When the pandemic shut down live performances, Don’t Tell Comedy pivoted to providing virtual comedy shows, trivia nights and other remote-friendly experiences to keep the laughs going when it was needed most. While they still offer virtual private virtual events for companies, Don’t Tell has been relaunching live shows in more than 20 cities across the country while adhering to safety guidelines set forth in each city.
