City of Ojai to hold Emergency Preparedness Day event at Libbey Park today

The Ojai City Council has declared today, May 27, as Emergency Preparedness Day in the city of Ojai.
The city will be holding an event at the Libbey Park fountain at 11 a.m. to get everyone ready for the next emergency.
“The goal of this event is to get everyone ready for the next emergency, because it’s not a matter of if but when,” Ojai City Manager James Vega said.
The city will partner with the Ojai Police Department, Ventura County Fire Department, Ventura County Supervisor Matt LaVere's office and others to coordinate emergency preparedness activities and distribute emergency preparedness information.
There will also be a go bag demonstration and flashlight giveaway.
The city will launch a new Emergency Preparedness webpage with useful information, prepare television, radio, and online messages, and schedule educational opportunities and demonstrations.
