Wildfire prevention and lot split on today's Ojai Valley Municipal Advisory Council agenda

Wildfire prevention and a proposed lot split are among the issues to be discussed by the Ojai Valley Municipal Advisory Council at its meeting today, Monday, July 19, at 7 p.m.

The lot split discussion is about subdividing a lot of 3.29 acres into three separate lots ranging between 0.75 to 1.78 acres.

Because it is within the Ojai Valley Area Plan, the lot split (tentative parcel map No. 6011) could result in residential development occurring with a ministerial zoning permit versus a discretionary permit.

(A discretionary permit requires a decision maker to exercise judgment or deliberation in the approval or disapproval of the permit, as distinguished from a ministerial permit that requires the decision maker merely to determine whether there is conformity with applicable codes and ordinances.)

The Ventura County Fire Department will present information on wildfire prevention, fuel management, fire-hazard reduction programs and other issues.

The agenda includes updates from the Ojai Planning Commission as well as several formal and informational items.
