John Brooks of Ojai, board member of Climate First Replacing Oil & Gas (CFROG), will be one of four speakers participating in an online panel on “Environment & Climate Change,” hosted by the Democratic Club of Ventura on Sunday, Aug. 8, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Also on the panel are Tomas Rebecchi, Food & Water Watch, California Central Coast managing staff; Clint Sultz with the Conejo Valley Climate Coalition; and Monica Gonzales, a CFROG staff member headed to UCLA for graduate school.

The panel announcement reads: “Community members and elected officials will discuss ideas for addressing the drought, the oil and gas industry fighting to overturn Ventura County's new law permitting drilling for the industry, the West Side Community Council addressing an environmental review of the So Cal Gas Compressor facility in West Ventura across from an elementary school.

“Members of the West Side Community Council will participate. Please bring your questions for those of us who are on the front lines of these issues. A better-informed community can be successful in these efforts.”
