Two back to school meetings tonight, Aug. 16

Two separate meeting will take place tonight, Aug. 16, both at 6 p.m., for parents getting ready to send their children back to school. School starts for the OUSD district on Wednesday, Aug. 18.


The first meeting, an Ojai Unified School District Town Hall, will take place via Zoom at 6 p.m. and will cover a variety of COVID information and health-related regulations. The meeting will consist of Ventura County Public Health officials who will clarify state policies for schools and go over additional COVID guidelines for both students and staff. The meeting will take place from 6:00–6:30 p.m. in English, then from 6:30–7:00 p.m. in Spanish.

VCOE Back to School Meeting

The second meeting, hosted by the Ventura County Office of Education, will also take place at 6 p.m. The meeting will cover more general back-to-school information. Ventura County Superintendent of Schools Dr. César Morales will host the live Q&A session which will be presented by the Ventura County Star. The meeting will take place in both English and Spanish.

Even though both meetings will be taking place at the same time, the Ventura County Office of Education meeting will be streamed and recorded via their Facebook page, allowing viewers to tune in to the meeting later on.

The best course of action for parents wishing to stay informed will be to attend the OUSD 6 p.m. Town Hall, then to go to the Ventura County Office of Education’s Facebook page here: to watch the second meeting.
