County Public Health reports 463 new COVID-19 cases countywide, 1 death since Sept. 3

Since Friday, Sept. 3, there are 463 new COVID-19 cases reported by Ventura County Public Health on Sept. 7.

A total of 15,042 new tests were performed. There are 130 people hospitalized, 36 in intensive care units. An 83-year-old woman was reported to have died with COVID-19.

County Public Health reported the following COVID-19 vaccination numbers on Sept 7:

• 77.5% of Ventura County's population 12+ has received the first dose.
• 79.2% of Ventura County's population 18+ has received the first dose.
• 69.3% of Ventura County’s population 12+ are fully vaccinated.

Booster ahots for immunocompromised individuals
Additional vaccines for immunocompromised individuals are available at any vaccination site. The Centers for Disease Control recommends an additional mRNA COVID-19 vaccine dose for people who are moderately and severely immunocompromised. The CDC does not currently recommend additional doses or booster shots for people who are not immunocompromised.
