1-10-22, Barbara Watson

Barbara Watson of Pahrump, Nevada, died unexpectedly on January 10th in her home, with her beloved Yorkies and “Bruce” the talkative parrot.

She is preceded in death by her parents Wallace and Carolyn Michael Beckman.

Barbie moved to Pahrump in 2016, after selling her ranch in Ojai, CA, where she lived with her husband Robert Watson until his death on June 20, 2010. Barbie is survived by her sister Joanne Williams of Las Vegas, and brother William Beckman from Delaware.

Aunt Barbie will also be missed by her nieces Kathy Cox, Judy Navarrete, and Kristi Barr and their families from Las Vegas, along with her nephew Mark Beckman, and nieces Theresa and Linda Beckman, all living on the east coast.

Barbie adored her Yorkies — many champions in competition — and had a passion for horses from the time she was a little girl, when her dad bought her first horse that grazed in their back yard.

She and her soul mate Bob, bred, raised, and showed Appaloosa horses at Crown Hill Farms for years in California.

Barbie, above all else, was a devout Christian, who loved and will be forever missed by her family at Calvary Chapel of the Ojai Valley.

In lieu of flowers and to honor Barbie, donations can be made to: Desert Haven Animal Society, 1511 Siri Ln., Pahrump, NV 89060 or Calvary Chapel of the Ojai Valley, P.O. Box 1443 Ojai, CA 93024.

A celebration of life will be held at Calvary Chapel of the Ojai Valley on February 5, 2022, at 11 a.m., with an interment to follow at 2 p.m. at Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura.
