This spring, the Nordhoff High School boys’ golf team is playing well, according to Head Coach Dick Sebek. The Rangers recently won a Citrus Coast League tournament, which was hosted by Malibu High School at the River Ridge Vineyard Course. The par 35 event went to the Rangers who defeated the second-place Santa Paula Cardinals by 36 strokes.

The team scores were: Nordhoff (188), Santa Paula (224), Malibu (228), Fillmore (280) and Hueneme (327).

When the scorecards were returned and tallied, Nordhoff’s top players included Dylan Blacker (34), Kevin McDonald (35), Benny Schurmer (37), Will Howatt (39), Charlie Schurmer (43), and Reily Brown (43).

“We have now won the first two league tournaments with three more remaining. Our season record is 4-0, and our players are performing at a high level,” added Sebek.
See future editions of the Ojai Valley News for more updates on the Rangers and their efforts to claim the 2022 league title and qualify for the CIF Southern Section tournaments.
