3-27-22, Richard Arlen Nash, 80

Richard Arlen Nash, loving husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2022.

He was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2019, and despite a short prognosis time of 6 months, he began a clinical trial which extended his life,

and gave us the opportunity to make the most of the two and a half years since that diagnosis.

Because he loved God, he also loved people! And because he trusted in Jesus, he knew Heaven would one day be his eternal home.

Richard was born in Hawaii, in May of 1941, shortly before the bombing at Pearl Harbor, and was whisked to safety by his mother, while his father went bravely to man his ship as a naval officer.
Richard lived an amazing and full life as the son of a naval officer, seeing sights such as the Sistine Chapel, the Louvre Museum, and Pompeii.

He enlisted in the Navy and as a Seabee. He did mapping of various assigned areas of Vietnam during the war.
He worked a wide range of jobs including: teaching disco, photography, layout and design work for the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Studios,

and since 2002, has loved working for Raypak as an applications specialist assisting customers with project issues on boilers, water heaters, and pool heaters.

His greatest joy was his family and friends, who he loved with delight and a touch of mischief.

Richard is survived by the love of his life, Mary Alice; his son, Shane Nash; his son, Mark Nash and wife Nancy Nash; his daughter, Lisa Hester and husband Ben Hester;

grandchildren, Emma, Caleb, Noah, Ezra, Judah, Evelyn, Elijah, and Andrew; his son, Scott Nash; and grandchildren Ethan, Lileeana, and Jackson.

A memorial service will be held at Ojai Valley Baptist Church, 11642 N. Ventura Ave., Ojai, on April 9, 2022, at 2 p.m.
