Ventura County Public Health announced that as of March 31 a second COVID-19 booster vaccination shot is available to those eligible.

The Food and Drug Administration authorized a second booster for the following people:

• People who are 50 and over who have received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, and it has been at least four months since the first booster dose was received.

• For those immunocompromised or otherwise with a weakened immune system:

• Those 12 and over may receive a second Pfizer booster four months after receiving the first booster dose.

• Those 18 and over may receive a second Moderna booster at least four months after the first booster dose.

To obtain a second booster shot, proof of a completed vaccination series is required by showing a white vaccination card, a photo of the card, or a digital record of vaccination.
