New courses are proposed for Nordhoff High School, Matilija Middle School and Summit School, the district’s homeschool program.

Board members will hear the plan to increase the number of students who graduate having completed the “A-G” requirements, which are required for admission to University of California and California State University schools. The district received $136,991 in grant funds in support of the plan.

Agenda itemsalso include volunteer recognitions; OUSD Value awards; a presentation on the district’s fields, as well as community access to those properties. The board will also vote to authorize new hires and resignations in various positions across the district.

The meeting can be attended by the public in person in the boardroom where public comment can be made in person. The meeting will also be streamed via the district’s YouTube channel and on the district’s Facebook page. Written public comments should be submitted by 4 p.m. on the day of the meeting.

Written comments are not read aloud, but will be posted on the OUSD website.

The district requests that written comments be limited to 450 words and that an online form is used to submit the comments. That link is: https://bit.ly/3KyNna6

However, state law permits the public to submit written comments of any length to elected officials, and such comments can be emailed to the district directly, or submitted in hard copy as well.
