'Yes' on Measures A & B forum describes need for modern-day environmental review for oil and gas drilling in V.C.

Ventura County Measures A and B on the June primary ballot will ensure new oil and gas drilling projects have modern-day environmental reviews, as approved by the Board of Supervisors in the General Plan.

A community forum was hosted in April by the Chalice Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Conejo Valley and can be viewed online at: https://www.facebook.com/ChaliceUUCommunityForum/ under "videos."
Participating in the forum was Steve Colomé of Ojai, who has a doctorate in Environmental Health Sciences from Harvard University, with an emphasis on air pollution.
He serves on the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District Advisory Committee.
Forum topics included:
• Environmental-review exemptions for “antiquated” permits issued prior to 1970.
• Impacts on health, safety, local water, air and soil.
• What people can do to help pass Measures A and B.
VC-SAFE is a coalition of Ventura County individuals and groups, including Food & Water Watch, Los Padres ForestWatch, Patagonia and CAUSE.
