JUSTICE FOR ALL VENTURA COUNTY (JFAVC) is joining hundreds of organizations across the United States on Saturday, August 28th, who will MARCH ON FOR VOTING RIGHTS.

WHERE: Ventura County Government Center, Telephone Rd. and Victoria Ave. (800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura)

WHEN: Saturday, August 28, 10:00 am to Noon

This is the 56th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “March on Washington”.

The best way to honor Dr. King’s legacy is to shine light on two important pieces of legislation that are needed to restore voting rights in America: the For the People Act of 2021

and The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

For the People Act of 2021 extends access for voter registration, regulates purging of voter rolls, requires independent redistricting commissions and reforms campaign finance laws.

The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act responds to the Shelby County Supreme Court decision by establishing standards for federal review of changes to voting laws in jurisdictions who in the past have instituted discriminatory voting practices.

Marching is a form of nonviolent protest, and protest is a form of democratic expression older than America itself.

Let’s show everyone what Ventura County stands for.
