Ojai Warming: Flora & Fauna in the Time of Climate Change
Years-long drought. Record-setting temperatures. The Thomas Fire. Climate change is affecting the Ojai Valley - one of the fastest-warming areas in the USA - in many negative ways.
There is an incredible menagerie of plants and animals sharing our valley and surrounding wild areas. Climate change and habitat destruction threaten their survival.
Some people, including some scientists, reject the notion that climate change is a serious problem that requires urgent counter-measures.
But the scientific consensus is that global warming poses an existential threat to the health of the planet and the future of humanity.
What do we, and our precious valley, stand to lose if nothing changes?
What can you do to help?
This exhibition answers those questions by focusing on local rare and threatened flora and fauna right here in the Ojai Valley.
Learn what plants and animals need to survive here and how you can help reduce global warming.
