VCSO clears 4,000 pot plants from illegal grow

As of last week, almost 10,000 marijuana plants have been removed from illegal grow sites in the mountains above Ojai. Last Thursday, officers with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) Narcotics Task Force removed 4,000 plants from a remote area south of Pine Mountain and east of Highway 33, according to Sgt. Jason Hendren. That grow's street value is "conservatively" more than $1 million, Hendren added.
