Ojai resident convicted, sentenced in fraud case

Ojai resident Nelly Luz Rubiano, 58, has been sentenced to serve 360 days in the Ventura County Jail for committing grand theft and foreclosure consultant fraud, which cost a total of $84,000 in fees to victims who sought out her services to avoid losing their homes.
Claiming to help the total of five victims, she took payment upfront with promise of loan modification or foreclosure rescue, and provided no follow-through, according to Senior Deputy District Attorney Antony Wold, who prosecuted the case.
