Golden States' legal efforts just flushed down the drain

Golden State Water Company's efforts to hold on to its Ojai service area came to an abrupt halt Wednesday with the Supreme Court of California's rejection of the utility’s latest appeal.
"Obviously, the water district is very pleased," said attorney Jeffrey Oderman, who has represented the Casitas Municipal Water District (CMWD) in the lawsuit. "It's been a long delay caused by this lawsuit, and Casitas is now free to proceed."
The rejection signals the last step for a lawsuit filed by Golden State Water Company (GSWC) in 2013, contesting the CMWD's intention to form a community facilities district for the purpose of buying out GSWC's holdings in Ojai.
