“This is why California is in a drought,” explained Ojai’s Connor Jones as he watched a torrent of stormwater runoff makes it way to a storm drain. “This doesn’t have to happen and this isn’t a natural occurrence,” he added.

Jones contends California’s drought is a choice and more the lack of good land management than the lack of rain.

He also claims to have a remedy that begins with addressing the issue of degraded, carbon-depleted soil.
