Elaine Reasor, one of the Ojai Unified School District's (OUSD) 2016 employees of the year, retired at the end of the school year largely due, she said, to increasing class sizes.
Reasor, an OUSD teacher for 23 years, spent 13 years as a second-grade teacher at Topa Topa Elementary School.
According to Reasor, during those 13 years her class size increased to as many as 34 students.
Reasor recalled bemoaning the issue of large class sizes to one of her student's parents.
