Tiny houses could become a big deal

A tiny home village may be coming to Ojai.

The Ojai City Council directed the Planning Commission Tuesday to add tiny homes on wheels as a legal second unit under the second residential unit ordinance.

Councilman William Weirick took the direction a step further, expressing interest in using existing city-owned property to develop a tiny home village demonstration project. “I am going to continue discussion with staff and members of the community. I am interested in developing a proposal,” said Weirick. “By its very nature, it’s easily reversible if it doesn't work out.”
