City eliminates 12 medical cannabis applicants; 10 remain

Twenty two has become 10.
Ojai City Manager Steve McClary has rejected 12 applicants who want to dispense and or deliver medical cannabis within the city limits. Ten applicants remain and will be invited to an interview with McClary and a selection committee to discuss their qualifications.
The Ojai City Council voted unanimously April 11 to add additional criteria to the selection process, requiring applicants provide proof of Ventura County residency and disallowing applicants who own more than five medical cannabis delivery services or dispensaries.
The city will allow for three business licenses for medical cannabis dispensaries and three for medical cannabis delivery services.
