City backtracks on sign code enforcement — for now

While the Ojai City Council moved to enforce rules governing the movement of area leaves, they voted 3-2 June 27 to suspend enforcement actions against unlawful portable signs.

The city recently moved to enforce local sign regulations after noticing a proliferation of noncompliant signs, including neon signs, sandwich board signs and off-site commercial or business signs, said City Manager Steve McClary.
The change distressed some local business owners.
