Patrick John McVicker, a 48-year-old Ventura man, is wanted by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) for allegedly fleeing the scene of the July 6 hit-and-run crash that led to the death of local actor and educator John Slade.

According to CHP officer Kevin Denharder, McVicker's Audi S5 collided with Slade's Toyota Prius as they were each driving north on Highway 101 near Ventura's Victoria Avenue exit at 11:45 p.m. July 6.
The collision caused both drivers to lose control of their vehicles.
Slade sustained internal injuries in the ensuing crash, which lead to his death July 7.
McVicker allegedly fled the scene of the accident on foot, said Denharder, leaving an injured passenger and his car.
Denharder said McVicker's passenger, a 41-year-old Oxnard man, has been uncooperative in the search for McVicker, but does not face criminal charges at this time.
It is unknown whether McVicker was injured in the accident, said Denharder.
CHP officials have searched for McVicker since July 6 and are now asking the public for assistance in locating him.
McVicker, a white male, is six feet tall and weighs 225 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes and is known to have ties to Ojai, Ventura and Oxnard, said Denharder.
The collision is being investigated as a felony hit-and-run traffic collision by CHP's Special Investigations Unit.
Anyone with information about McVicker's whereabouts is asking to contact CHP's Ventura office at 662-2640.
