Power outage hits Ojai customers

Perry Van Houten, Ojai Valley News reporter
As many as 2,589 customers in the Ojai Valley were affected by a power outage in the early morning hours of July 25.
According to Southern California Edison (SCE), the outage was reported at 5:36 a.m. and was blamed on faulty equipment in an underground vault in the area of Lion and Aliso streets.
As of 9:30 a.m., approximately 29 customers — primarily in the area of Signal Street and Ojai Avenue — were still without power, according to Edison spokesperson Mary Ann Milbourne.
Milbourne said the utility expected to have power restored to all customers by 8:30 p.m.
