Local woman’s efforts helping to educate Afghani girls

Marilyn Mosley Gordanier has educated thousands of children across 74 countries in her role as founder of Ojai's Laurel Springs School.
Sending Afghani girls to school has proved a wholly different challenge.
Mosley Gordanier's daughter, Ramaa Mosley, directed a portion of the 2013 film, “Girls Rising,”which documented the trials of young girls in the developing world. 
Mosley filmed the stories of young girls in Afghanistan and her mother was shocked by the footage.
“When I saw the first initial edits of the movie, I couldn't even watch it,” said Mosley Gordanier. “I had no idea how bad it was. How bad it is.”
