Golden State now on the clock for Playhouse appeal

Andra Belknap, Ojai Valley News reporter
It's official. Ventura County Superior Court Judge Vincent O'Neill signed a statement of decision Sept. 8 that found Golden State Water Company (GSWC) liable for $2.7 million in damages to Ojai Playhouse owners Khaled and Walid Al-Alwar.
The judgment has been served to GSWC, confirmed attorney Brett Templeman, who represents the Al-Awars.
“They owe the money now,” said attorney John Howard, who also represents the plaintiffs.
Howard added that GSWC has the right to petition the court to change its decision.
As of Sept. 12, GSWC officials have 60 days to decide if they will appeal the decision.
