Difficult road continues for NHS football

Nordhoff High School’s varsity football team continued its difficult stretch Oct. 20 traveling to play the Grace Brethren Lancers in their Tri-Valley League opener. Despite playing hard and keeping the game close through three quarters, the Rangers lost, 48-14. The Rangers now sit at 5-3 overall and 0-1 in league action.
Going into the game against Nordhoff, the Lancers were the third-ranked team in the CIF Southern Section Division 8 polls.
“We faced Oak Park and they were really big and we faced St. Margaret’s and they were fast. When we took the field against Grace Brethren, they were big and fast, but I was really pleased with how our kids responded,” said NHS head coach Lance Wiggins. “They played a great game and the score didn’t reflect how close the game was.”
