Sewer fees continue to vex Sanitary District board

Ojai Valley Sanitary District’s (OVSD) Board of Directors voted Oct. 23 to remove a member of its Ordinance Committee over an alleged conflict of interest.
The Board voted 6-0 to remove William Ulrich from that committee.
A conflict of interest allegation arose at OVSD’s Oct. 17 Ordinance Committee meeting in which the implications of a new housing law, SB 229, were up for review.
OVSD attorney Robert Kwong asserted that Ulrich’s “financial interest” in a Gridley Road property that may be affected by SB 229 constituted a potential conflict of interest.
