Sespe Creek Collective became the first permitted dispensary in Ventura County Nov. 1, with a “very soft, very slow,” opening, said CEO Chelsea Sutula.
Local Risa Horowitz, a medical cannabis advocate, booked Sespe Creek's first appointment Nov. 1.
“I was the first patient to legally buy medical cannabis yesterday in Ventura County,” she said. “I cried.”
Horowitz has been a medical cannabis patient for the past eight years.
“It's the only medicine I use at 63,” she said.
Ojai's three licensed dispensaries and delivery services, Sespe Creek Collective, Shangri La Care Cooperative (SLCC) and Ojai Greens (also known as AgMD), will all serve patients by appointment only.
