Ojai native and local attorney Allan Jacobs was named a Living Treasure by the Rotary Club of Ojai and the Rotary Club of Ojai West April 25.
Jacobs was nominated by John Broesamle and Living Treasures Committee chair Fred Fauvre, in recognition of his service to the Rotary Club of Ojai's Education Foundation (OEF) and Ojai Valley Land Conservancy (OVLC).
His death Oct. 8, at the age of 77, interrupted the recognition, but not his legacy.
Jacob's volunteerism began early, according to his wife, Janet. She said he served in the Peace Corps in Bolivia from 1969 to 1971.
“He just wanted to provide a service to our country,” Janet said.
