Ojai Valley Inn & Spa staff welcomed visitors back to the Country Club Road resort Jan. 11, following a month-long closure due to the Thomas Fire.
Other local hotels are following suit, said Julia Whitman, owner of the Iguana Inns of Ojai.
Whitman plans to reopen her inns Jan. 12.
“Everybody except (The Oaks at Ojai) should be open tomorrow,” she said.
The Oaks at Ojai has remained shuttered since the Thomas Fire. Oaks representatives did not respond to a request for comment regarding the property’s reopening as of press time.
Though the hotel reopenings portend tourists’ return to Ojai, Bruce Stenslie, president and CEO of the Economic Development Collaborative for Ventura County (EDC-VC), predicts Ojai’s economic recovery will take months.
