Changes may be on the horizon for the Ojai Unified School District (OUSD).
A District committee is reviewing potential changes to junior high and high school start times and the School Board has renewed a conversation about potentially moving Ojai sixth graders to Matilija Junior High School.
According to a recent survey by the OUSD's Later Start Time Committee, 64 percent of OUSD junior high and high schoolers say they get too little sleep. The survey included responses from 677 students.
A plurality of the students surveyed would favor a school start between 8 and 8:30 a.m., including Taylor Erickson, a student member of the Later Start Time Committee.
