“It's not as bad as it was last time,” said Bob Kilpatrick, Ojai area supervisor for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
Kilpatrick surveyed storm damage on Highway 33 north of Ojai March 2 and didn't seem too worried about what he saw.
“I'd like to get this road back open,” he said. “I don't want it closed as long as it was last time.”
Caltrans shut down the highway from Fairview Road to Lockwood Valley Road around 3 a.m. to everyone except residents and emergency vehicles.
It was reopened at approximately 2 p.m.
