1) Bachata, a slow style of romantic music, developed among the poor communities in what Caribbean country that borders Haiti?
2) Milford Sound, a fjord carved by glacial erosion, borders South Island in which southern hemisphere country?
These are the type of questions 13-year-old Ojai resident Sean Reed is studying as he prepares for the 2018 California Geographic Bee.
Reed, a Matilija Junior High School student, is one of more than 500 California students who won their school-wide geography bees.
Of those students, only 106 qualified for the state competition.
