Council votes to finally adopt cultural resources protection resolution

After three years of work, the Ojai City Council voted three to two April 10 to adopt a cultural resources protection resolution.
Julie Tumamait-Stenslie and Pat Tumamait, local representatives of the Chumash tribe, expressed frustration with the city's proposed resolution during the April 10 meeting, arguing they had not been consulted about changes made to the final document.
“I don't know how you guys sleep at night,” said Tumamait.“To reject the preservation of this city and the cultural resources is a big mistake because it's going to be here long after we're gone.”
