Local medical cannabis dispensaries will mark 420 with special events for customers

April 20, an unofficial cannabis holiday, will be commemorated by Ojai's three medical cannabis dispensaries Friday.
The number 420 has long been associated with cannabis use.
Many believe the association originated from a group of Marin County students who met at 4:20 p.m. to imbibe during the 1970s, said Sespe Creek Collective CEO Chelsea Sutula.
Sespe Creek Collective, 408 Bryant Street Suite C, will host a “Plant Appreciation Day” April 20 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The event will feature music, live art and “munchies” from Jim & Robs Fresh Grill, according to Sutula.
Just down the street from Sespe Creek, the Shangri La Care Cooperative (SLCC) and Ojai Greens will offer 420 discounts to medical cannabis patients.
