Isabella Coleman, a fifth-grade student at Sunset Elementary School in Oak View, has taken first prize in a poster contest aimed at teaching kids about recycling.
Her poster is now mounted on the side of an E.J. Harrison & Son's recycle truck.
"I was really surprised and super excited," said Isabella. "I've been entering a lot of writing and poster contests, so it was cool to win."
Students were tasked with creating a poster to promote recycling, along with a catchy slogan.
"I knew I needed a lot of color and I outlined everything in black to make it pop," said Coleman.
For her winning design, Coleman came up with the slogan "Recycle, Reuse, Reduce — These 3 R's are Radical."
