Six Villanova Preparatory School (VPS) girls’ water polo players traveled to Buena Park April 22 to be presented with All-CIF certificates and patches during the 20th annual CIF Southern Section Water Polo Awards Banquet.
Sophomore Dana Gramckow was named to the Division VII third team, while juniors Jillian Diaz and Keegan Reeder were named to the second team.
Senior Taylor Johnson, junior Lyla Moes, and junior Kyla Lenehan were all named to the All-CIF first team.
During the 2017-2018 season team captains Johnson and Moes led the Lady Wildcats with 81 and 73 goals, respectively. And on the other end of the pool, Lenehan dominated in the net with 325 blocked shots, 110 steals and 80 assists in 12 games.
This year’s accomplishments are all the more impressive considering Villanova's student population of only 250, while often taking on schools of 1,000 to 3,000 students.
