Tiny homes on Planning Commission agenda

Ojai's Planning Commission will consider an amendment to the city's zoning regulations May 16, that if approved by the Ojai City Council, would legalize tiny homes on wheels as accessory dwelling units in the city.
The concept was endorsed by the Ojai City Council during its March 27 regular meeting — when the body voted to send the matter to the Planning Commission for further analysis.
The draft ordinance was created using the city of Fresno's tiny house rules as a model, wrote Community Development Director Luke Connolly in a report to the Planning Commission.
He said Fresno appears to be the only city in California that has taken steps to define tiny homes under its municipal code.
