Greater Goods, a Meiners Oaks community group that offers a “living room for all” at their 145 W. El Roblar Drive storefront, is distributing more than $52,000 to 43 Ojai Valley households still struggling in the wake of the Thomas Fire.
The $52,000 came from a host of donors; Greater Goods' Disaster Relief Fund was a beneficiary of musician Jack Johnson's Santa Barbara Bowl benefit concert for Thomas Fire victims.
The group also received donations from The Thacher School Alumni Association and the Brittingham Family Foundation.
Greater Goods, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to local arts, crafts, learning and togetherness.
The group has dispersed a total of $134,060 to 67 households since the December fire and its founders plan to continue supporting fire victims through the end of 2018.
