Move over Uber and Lyft.
There's a new way to get around town — Ojai Rickshaw.
The service is owned by longtime friends Peter Larramendy and Scott Lang, who say they're passionate about bicycling and their hometown.
The rickshaw, also known as a pedicab, is a three-wheeled bicycle with the driver sitting in front of the passengers.
It comfortably seats two people in back, or three with a child.
While the service is ramping up to full operation this summer, Larramendy and Lang have begun making test runs around town.
“Most people are really psyched to see it,” said Larramendy, a biologist by trade.
“Everybody is saying, 'Is that a new business? What a great idea,'” added Lang.
Before the two 29-year-old Ojai natives could launch Ojai Rickshaw, they needed to comply with the city's standards and permits for pedicabs. Yes, those things do exist.
