Creek Road intersection project underway — sort of

A construction project reconfiguring the Hwy. 33-Creek Road intersection south of Oak View got underway July 3.
New warning signs on the highway and modified striping on Creek Road were installed by crews from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
The changes are the first for a long-sought project aimed at making it easier and safer for drivers turning left onto southbound Hwy. 33 from Creek Road.
“We're actually moving the stop bar on Creek Road closer to Highway 33 to improve the sight distance for drivers turning onto the highway,” said Caltrans public information officer Michael Comeaux.
The first of several new signs were also installed to alert northbound and southbound drivers that they're approaching an intersection.
