Perry Van Houten, Ojai Valley News reporter
While Ojaians enjoyed a relatively cool Fourth of July, with highs in the low 80s, triple-digit temperatures are expected to arrive in time for the weekend.
"We expect the hottest days to be Friday and Saturday, the most dangerous days in terms of heat," said Keily Delerme, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service (NWS) in Oxnard.
A record high of 110 is forecast in Ojai July 6.
Highs will reach 108 July 7 and 102 July 8.
Forecasters expected to issue an excessive heat warning for July 6 and July 7.
